11 Degrees

Hey Guys & Dolls,
Welcome to the last post of the month of February. I don’t want to jump the gun here but 2016 has been amazing for me so far and I am very much looking forward to living out the rest of it, starting with my birthday next month. We Finna Get LIT!!!
I wanted to finish the month strong and I thought this look was perfect for what I had envisioned.
(ps. if you haven't found your perfect OTK boots like me, OTK socks are a great cheat).

Jack Frost

Hey Guys & Dolls,
I am seriously trying to wrap my head around how cold it is in the UK right about now. On the other hand, I shouldn’t complain because I get to wear all my old favorites like the knee-high Boots, which I have owned for approximately 7years and the Trilby which you have seen in a few of my fall posts. LOVE LOVE LOVE THOSE ITEMS!

In addition, I wanted to say thank you for hanging in there with me the last couple of weeks. It was hard but I’m back and I’m better. I want this more than ever, LOL! On a more serious note, ‘The Black Mannequin’ hit over 5000 views last Sunday and I just wanted to extend my gratitude to all my readers and supporters. Also, a massive thank you to everyone retweeting and sharing, y’all are the real MVP. It might seem like a minor achievement but it means so much to me.

BH Cosmetics

“When you’re putting on your makeup, it’s like you’re an artist but instead of painting a canvas, you’re painting your face’ –Tess, Burlesque

Hey Guys & Dolls,
Welcome back to my blog. It has been a super busy week here at ‘The Black Mannequin’. I tend not to get too personal on here but I have had two 45-hour working weeks back to back and it has made it incredibly difficult for me to focus.

I am back with another beauty post for y’all though. If you follow me on Snapchat (@BLACKMNQN), you may have seen glimpses of my new babies.
Aside from being a matte lipstick fiend, I also have a certain weakness for makeup brushes. I believe the key to flawless makeup application is having the correct tools. I have several from MAC Cosmetics to Real Techniques to LOLA to Diego Dalla Palma and now, I can finally add BH Cosmetics to that list. YAY!!!

There are three different sets exemplified below and this consists of a face brush set, an eye brush set and a contour brush set all for the lovely price of £30.97. I’ve only used two of these but I really can’t fault the collection. They work very effectively and look very pretty.

I have also included some of my current favorites in the set and these include:
Nars Blusher: Taj Mahal
MAC Cosmetics Highlighter: Cheeky Bronze
MAC Cosmetics eye shadow: Woodwinked
Stila Metallic Foil Eyeshadow: Comex Gold
MDM Flow Lipstick

What do you think of my new brushes? What are your favorites? Leave me a comment below. I am Destini Monet and you have been reading ‘The Black Mannequin’.

L'amore conquista tutto

“I don’t want normal and easy and simple. I want painful, difficult, devastating, life-changing, extraordinary love.” –Olivia Pope

Hey Guys and Dolls,
It is finally here. If you are reading this, Happy Valentine’s Day
I hope you all have fun today/tonight and remember; the fun doesn’t have to end soon as the clock strikes 2400hours.
Following my last post, I realised not everyone will want to wear a dress in February considering it is cold and windy most of the time, especially if you live in the UK.
An alternative to that and one of my personal favourite items of clothing is a jumpsuit. Y’all know I love my jumpsuits- they’re versatile, easy to wear and the one photographed happens to be what I wore (sans the shoes & jewellery) for the last day of my 4-day birthday celebration last year.

Jumpsuit: AQAQ
Watch: Michael Kors
Bracelet: ASOS
Clutch: ZARA
Court Shoes: ASOS

In my second post of the capsule, I mentioned that Love was free and whilst it doesn’t cost money, it is the most expensive gift of all. I have had the pleasure of researching and studying love from an array of angles and it is probably the most beautiful thing anyone can experience. I could spend an eternity talking to you about LOVE, maybe one day I will, but for today, I will leave you with this. LOVE IS A SACRIFICE.
